Setser highlights USAC Florida invasion with top-ten at Ocala
Gunnar Setser's Florida vacation was competitive from start to finish, and although forced to face-off with the nation's finest non-wing aces for six nights of action (an act he is certainly no stranger to), the young man out of Columbus, Indiana, found his stride, highlighting all competition with a top-ten achievement on Thursday, February 12. Setser, USAC's top rookie in 2015, finished ninth in his top-ten achievement, doing so at Ocala Speedway in Ocala, Florida.
The feature result was the product of a two-spot advancement, lining up 11th for the Winter Dirt Games contest after finishing second in his respective heat race. The eventual top-ten was Setser's first of the 2026 USAC National Sprint Cars season, keeping Kevin Thomas Jr. and Justin Grant in his rearview to do so.
The 2026 USAC National Sprint Cars schedule will not resume until early April when the Series invades Red Hill Raceway in Illinois and Paragon Speedway in Indiana on April 3-4. To learn more, visit the Series online at www.usacracing.com.
