Gunnar Setser Embarks on Tulsa Shootout

Gunnar Setser opened his outing in the 38th annual Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout on Tuesday night at the SageNet Center (Tulsa, Okla.) Expo Raceway. His busy week of racing became behind the wheel of his Midwest Tube Mills No. S5 Central Marketing Transport Services 600cc Outlaw Winged Micro.

With 239 entries on hand, Gunnar started 10th in his heat race and advanced to finish eighth.

Action continued on Wednesday with Gunnar entering a trio of divisions. In 600cc Outlaw Winged Micro competition he raced from fifth to fourth in his heat race, while 600cc Outlaw Non Winged Micro heat race action saw Setser pass three cars to finish fourth. He added a ninth-to-sixth performance in his 600cc Winged Micro heat race.

On Thursday, Gunnar had high hopes with the pole starting position for the 600cc Outlaw Non Winged Micro heat race, but struggles sent him pitside early, and he was credited with a 12th-place finish. During the course of the long day he added a seventh-place finish in 600cc Winged Micro competition and a sixth-place finish in 600cc Non Winged Micro action.

Friday found Gunnar competing in solely the 600cc Non Winged Micro ranks, where he slipped to a 12th-place finish in his C-Main after starting ninth.
